Alec Burgess joined Chartway Construction in 2019 and having completed a Level 3 BTEC in Construction and the Built Environment has now begun the next step in his career with a Level 4 HNC in Construction Site Supervision.
Alec, who attends Mid Kent College one day a week is also working on site and learning the practical elements alongside his studies.
Alec says ‘By combining college-based study at Mid Kent College, with on-site experience is a really good combination; I can use the theory practically by applying it to the day-to- day work on site. I’m gaining industry experience which will help me to be successful in my HNC. I’m keen to make my career in construction and would like to eventually be a Site Project Manager’.
Chartway Construction are also providing additional training for Alec as part of his personal development, and he is currently working on a large mixed tenure development in Bapchild, Sittingbourne.
