Elephants dressed as Zebra's, find out what it's all about!

Thursday 1st July 2021

Some of the team from CCE, Chartway Group’s civil engineering arm, were on the lookout this afternoon for the Elmer they have sponsored,  as part of Elmer’s Great Big Heart of Kent Parade, in support of Heart of Kent Hospice.

They spotted their Elmer, who is aptly named Zebrelmer on Huntsman Lane, Maidstone and thought he was fabulous. Designed by artist Hil Sanderson he is one of 51 individually designed Elmers who are part of the community charity event, Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade taking place in Maidstone this summer. Many of the Elmers have a unique code on them which can be uploaded to the especially created app, and have rewards to collect.

Tap the app,  and enter the unique code for Zebrelmer and you can have the chance to enjoy a day out at Howletts Wild Animal Park.

Westerhill Homes,  Chartway Groups new homes arm is the proud Official Presenting Partner for Elmer’s Great Big Heart of Kent Parade, with two of their own sculptures, Where’s Elmer and Heard Across The County are also on the trail which takes in nature, heritage and river walks around Maidstone, and they have exciting rewards too.

After the parade has finished on the 22nd August the Elmers will be auctioned and the money raised will go to Heart of Kent Hospice.

Along with the Elmers, there 30 baby elephants each decorated by local schools and youth groups, and once the parade comes to a close, they will return to them.
