Andrew Shankster is Managing Director of Chartway Construction and Westerhill Homes and has almost 30 years’ experience in housing development. He started in the industry as a trainee surveyor, moving into management at Prowting Homes and then at David Wilson Homes where he was commercial director in the South Midlands.
He moved upward through management before becoming commercial director and then regional operations director for Bovis Homes, South East. In 2013, He moved to Persimmon Homes, South East before becoming managing director later that year. He joined Chartway Group in 2015, adding his considerable development experience to the operation as it seeks to capitalise on its growth and success.
Beginning her career in new homes straight in her early twenties, Joanne found herself working as a secretary in the sales department of renowned Kent house builder Hillreed Homes. She quickly found her feet and rose through the ranks to Sales Manager and then Head of Sales & Marketing, spanning a twenty-five year commitment to Hillreed. After a stint with Persimmon Homes, who had taken over Hillreed, Joanne moved to Pentland Homes as Head of Sales & Marketing.
Keen to further her career with a local developer she joined Chartway Group in 2018 as Sales & Marketing Director and heads the rest of the team with a can-do, and hands-on approach.
Since joining Chartway she has grown the sales team and forged new relationships with external partners. Working on the Westerhill Homes brand Joanne brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm; her goals include increasing sales revenues whilst ensuring customers remain at the heart of all we do.
Jo is an active Group Scout Leader, regularly attending the weekly meetings at Iwade Scout Group, a commitment she first took on when at Hillreed Homes some sixteen years ago.
Mary-Anne has over thirty years’ sales experience in the new homes industry, having worked directly for private house builders as well as consumer-facing new homes agencies.
Mary-Anne began her new homes career as a Sales Consultant and then Sales Training Officer at Hillreed Homes followed by a role as Area Sales Manager for RPC Land & New Homes, Sales Director at Fernham Homes, before moving to a new homes sales management role for Arun Estates (Ward & Partners and Douglas Allen brands) working for national and private developer clients across the south east.
Mary-Anne joined Chartway Group at the end of 2014 and is currently providing sales and marketing expertise with ‘hands-on’ management of high volume developments. She works alongside the commercial and site teams internally and joint venture partners, ensuring first class customer service and delivery.
Sophie studied Beauty Therapy at Canterbury College before joining Persimmon Homes and completing her Sales Consultant Training, and then moving to Pentland Homes in 2018.
Joining Chartway Group as Fields Sales Manager was the next step in Sophie’s career progression, which sees her managing the day to day sales and marketing for a number of developments in the Westerhill Homes portfolio.
Sophie’s enthusiasm and methodical approach to providing solutions and working directly to support the on-site sales teams, is helping her developments to successfully reach targets on an on-going basis.
Whilst working in an admin role at Gallagher Aggregates, Demi to decided to change direction and, as she is keen on property finding a role in new homes seemed an exciting prospect. She joined Persimmon Homes and completed their in-house Sales Consultant training whilst running her own sales office at a busy large development in Dartford exceeding sales targets on a monthly basis.
Moving to a growing local developer was a priority for Demi’s next move, she wanted to inspire other Sales Consultants with the extensive knowledge she’s gained from running a high-volume very busy sales office. She is extremely proactive and enjoys still working with customers and giving them a very high level of customer service and working with them to ensure the process of moving home is as stress-free as it can be.
