Chartway appoints Adam Forster as Head of SFR

Chartway Partnerships Group today announces the appointment of Adam Forster as the Head of Single Family Rental (SFR) and Associate Director for the strategic asset management arm of Chartway, PSP. In this dual role, Adam will lead the strategy for Chartway’s investment in SFR homes and head up the delivery of asset and development management services in collaboration with Institutional Capital and Local Authorities.

With a 13-year track record in the property sector specialising in mixed-use residential development, Adam joins Chartway from Pan European Real Estate Investment Manager Redevco where he managed the development of projects totalling in excess of £325 million, including a flagship 362 unit Build to Rent development for the COFRA / Swiss Finance & Property JV.

Adam’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment in Chartway’s vision to provide “New Homes for Everyone”. The company aims to increase its annual home construction rate, growing from 600 to an 1100 units per year by 2027, across multiple tenure types with SFR comprising a third of new homes delivered.

With a keen focus on working alongside both institutional and private investors, Adam will leverage Chartway’s well-established track record in delivering sustainable homes across South East England. In 2022, the Group sealed a deal with Hearthstone Investments, involving the development of purpose-built SFR homes in Sittingbourne, Kent. On completion of the transaction, the net-zero homes were fully occupied through Chartway’s SFR brand, LetLife. The Hearthstone deal exemplifies Chartway’s commitment in supporting Fund Manager strategies that address the supply-demand gap for high quality and low energy family rental homes.

Adam Forster, the newly appointed Chartway Head of SFR and PSP Associate Director:

“The housing landscape in South East England presents both opportunities and challenges. High demand and limited supply have created affordability issues. Sustainability is also a growing concern framed by the cost of living and energy crises. We’re committed to addressing these issues by providing new homes that meet the evolving needs of our communities. With a strong focus on the Single Family Rental sector, we aim to deliver high-quality homes while contributing to the region’s growth and social impact.”

Steven Cresswell, CEO of Chartway Partnerships Group, emphasised the strategic importance of tackling the housing supply and demand challenge:

“Our vision is simple; we want to develop homes for everyone across South East England. There simply aren’t enough quality homes available, and we are committed to bridging this gap by providing homes across all tenure types – private sale, private rent and affordable.”

“Chartway is a land-led house builder and currently engaged with multiple institutional investors on new housing projects targeted for completion before the end of 2023. These projects are poised to bring approximately 300 new homes to South East England, all with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A or operating as all-electric homes.”
