At Chartway Group, we believe that apprentices are an invaluable part of our business. Our apprenticeship programme provides a platform for people to gain industry related experience on the job whilst studying for a qualification. In fact, a number of our senior staff started as apprentices themselves. Since 2014, we’ve had 14 apprentices working and learning in our business, and a further six existing staff  taking up our development programme.

Introducing Abi

Having joined the Chartway Group in July 2019 on a work experience placement, Abi Tarbet practiced in the vast day-to-day activities of the business, which led her to start an apprenticeship role in September 2019.

Now over two years on, Abi has learnt a plethora of new skills that have supporter her academic studies and enabled her to join our Commercial Team as a trainee.

“I’ve been fortunate to progress my Level 2 Business Administration course during my time with the Chartway Group. Starting my apprenticeship with the projects and HR teams, allowed me to experience the group’s daily administrative tasks, from creating induction packs for new starters, handover packs for home owners as well as progress reports.”

After 10 months, Abi moved to support the commercial department and said:

“I was trained in processing payments and raising orders with subtractors, this gave me the opportunity to practice and understand a new depth to the administrative role, and dealings with client services.”
