Our client was keen for us to explore the relatively new technique of off site modular. We used this technology to good effect and the units were constructed off-site in a factory with the groundworks being carried out by our in house team and was carried out in unison. The external walls and roofs were then added post delivery and all services connected. This technology allowed for minimal waste on site. We also offered our client an uplift on their Code for Sustainable Homes requirements to Code level 4 and had incorporated photovoltaic panels and a very efficient envelope helped by the use of the offsite manufacture. One unit has been purpose built to cater for a disabled resident with a lift and adapted bathrooms to suit their exact requirements.
